Q: Will my photo work?
A: The subject in your photo, at a minimum, should encompass 50% of the entire image. If the image does not meet this requirement the quality when enlarged will appear pixelated and blurry. You should also follow the guidelines set below for resolution requirements.
Q: What are your minimum resolution requirements for an image?
A: Digital camera images require a minimum resolution of 2048x1536. This resolution is available on any camera with a mega-pixel rating of 3 or more. Simply set your image capture settings to the highest quality. Scanned images require a minimum resolution of 300 dpi at 8"x10".
Remember – the output quality is only as good as the input quality of the image!!!

How to photograph your ride
-
Your car should fill the viewing area. The majority of the picture should be your car and not the back ground.
-
Try to use as little zoom as possible. Zooming in on your subject to much will degrade your image.
-
We recommend taking your photo in good light on a clear day and in a wide open area.
-
Check for reflections in the paint, glass and chrome. Other cars, clouds, a building, trees, street signs and you the photographer among other things.
-
Check your line of sight through the windshield and windows. Make sure there is nothing odd that is going to show up in your enlargement. Items like trees, telephone poles, and other people.
-
Check for too much glare coming from glass, chrome or shinny paint. You may need to reposition the car to obtain a better photograph.
-
Try different angles. We suggest left and right profile, rear view, front view, ¾ side views from the front and ¾ side views from the back. Use your imagination and experiment.
Use the following table to determine print quality for your image. You can see the resolution of your photo by putting your mouse over the picture or thumbnail and it should display the dimensions. You can also right click on the picture and select properties to show the dimensions. Example - 2816 x 2112. Take the dimensions of your photo and compare to the chart below. Room Rods will notify you if your image will not produce quality results for the size ordered.
